“It was a perfect day to be outside. I was watching my sister Mercedes and a friend riding their scooters. They were taking turns going down a hill. After awhile, they decided to see who could be the first one down the hill. I watched as they lined up at the top of the hill. At the count of “three,” the two girls came racing down the hill. All of a sudden, Mercedes scooter hit a rock and Mercedes landed on her face. I ran to Mercedes and saw her face was bleeding. In an instant, I yelled with my loudest voice for help. I kept yelling and quickly my parents came to see what was happening. My dad took Mercedes to the hospital. It was a good thing that I yelled so loud and kept on yelling until help came. My parents called me a hero for acting so quickly to help my sister.”
